We take the health and safety of our customers and our staff is our highest priority.

Seeing as such we’ve taken additional measures to both ensure safety from COVID-19 and the ability to maintain efficient deliveries of our product.

As the SARS-COV-2 virus started to be detected in Wuhan in early January, and then in Shenzhen, we heard from friends of it’s rapid spread in China, and incredibly draconian steps taken to isolate and stop the infection from spreading. At this time we started the process of front loading our inventory for the span of an entire year. Between then and now, we have batched and packaged product while there were no cases in our area. Staff wears gloves and facemasks normally when working with our product to prevent contamination, so our measures and stock of protective equipment is enough to still continue to manufacture new product well into the future.

Last week, as cases started to spread in our area, we made the decision to move operations to a rural mountain location. We moved all our stock we had built up, equipment and ready to pack. We’ve brought our staff along as well, so that they are in an area unaffected by the Corona-Virus and can continue in a safe environment. These steps allow a plethora of outdoor healthy activities not around other people. This will ensure our ability to continue to pack and ship product.

Because of this move, our shipping days have been cut to Monday – Friday because our new post office is only open those days. The post office is also further away so we will be setting a new cutoff time for same day shipping as 1pm.

Now lets talk safety for you, our customer.

There is early research that shows inhaling Cigarettes and Vapor may increase the production of the ACE-2 cell in the lungs, which SARS-COV-2 attaches to. As such various public health has messaged that smoking Cigarettes or Vapor may increase your chances of contracting COVID-19, likely with worse outcomes because of existing damage, especially where Cigarettes are concerned. From this early, and not yet peer reviewed warning, we consider our mission as critical to helping people stay away from these particular harms. The ability to still satisfy your nicotine without inhaling something we see as a big social good.

From the most extreme studies of SARS-COV-2, the longest it will live on a surface is 9 days. If in the future, we need to batch more product, we will let it sit fully packaged at least 9 days before shipping it. From here there are two surfaces you the customer should take precaution with.

Bubble Mailer you receive: This has been handled by our staff and a number of people throughout the USPS supply chain. When handling this package, our best suggestion is to liberally spray the package with a water and bleach solution you can make at home.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends a diluted bleach solution (⅓ cup bleach per 1 gallon of water or 4 teaspoons bleach per 1 quart of water) for virus disinfection. Wear gloves while using bleach, and never mix it with ammonia or anything, in fact, except water. (The only exception is when doing laundry with detergent.) Once mixed, don’t keep the solution for longer than a day because bleach will degrade certain plastic containers.

“Always clean the surface with water and detergent first, since many materials can react with bleach and deactivate it,” Sachleben says. “Dry the surface then apply the bleach solution and let it sit for at least 10 minutes before wiping it off.”

After spraying the package liberally and letting it sit, open the package, but be sure not to touch your face in between these steps.

CRAVE Toothpicks come in a child resistant, water proof container, sealed in a shrink film. Also use the bleach solution and spray the unwrapped bottles down and let them sit for 10 mins. After this, wash your hands. Then wash off the containers under a tap to remove any residue of bleach solution. After this your product is ready to use.

If you touch the toothpick while using it and are in public, be sure to wash or sanitize your hands before reaching to your mouth.

Safety of Others:

Because of the nature of Crave Toothpicks, and because COVID-19 symptoms may not appear for many days after you become infected, but are infectious, it’s important that we think of others in the behavior we undertake personally. Spitting was a common behavior in the United States up until the Spanish Flu. After people got very serious about how the Flu was spread, many laws and social pressures came about so that spitting is not common any longer in the United States like it still is in China. We are particularly proud of our Toothpick flavor and infusion process that has created an oral nicotine product that does not make you want or need to spit while using the product.

Because after you use a toothpick, it has been in your mouth for some time, it is important that you dispose of it safely. Dispose of the toothpick in a plastic bagged trash can, that others will not be touching the inside of the bag. Do not throw your toothpicks on the ground or on objects others may touch. Other people who are especially vulnerable to COVID-19 are relying on you, me and all of us to do our best not to spread SARS-COV-2 and being responsible with your waste products is one of the best ways to do so.

We’re here for you, and if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us on our contact page, we’re happy to help!
